How SMS credits work
One credit sends one SMS to one number. A standard SMS holds up to 160 characters, including spaces.
When a message runs past 160 characters, it goes out in parts of 153 characters that the phone joins back together, and each part uses one credit. A 200-character message therefore uses 2 credits per person.
Some characters change the count. Emoji, curly quotes and some accented letters, like the ê in sê or the ô in môre, switch the message to Unicode, where one SMS holds only 70 characters. Check yours with the SMS character counter.

We're not registered for VAT, so we don't charge it. The price on the pack is the price on your invoice, and the invoice isn't a tax invoice.

Credits that last
Your credits stay valid for three years from the day you buy them. Buy the pack that gives you the best rate and use it at your own pace.
There are no setup fees, no monthly fees and no contract. You only pay for the credits you buy.

Bulk SMS price questions
Do your prices include VAT?
We're not registered for VAT, so we don't charge it. The Starter pack costs R300 and nothing more. Our invoices aren't tax invoices, so a VAT-registered business can't claim VAT back on them.
Do SMS credits expire?
Credits stay valid for three years from the day you buy them, so a bigger pack won't go to waste.
Can I buy more than one pack?
Yes. Buy as many packs as you like, whenever you like. The credits add up in one account.
What happens if a message isn't delivered?
A credit is used when your message goes to the network. Your delivery report shows which numbers didn't receive it, usually because the number is wrong or no longer in use, so you can remove them before your next send.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes: one Starter pack, 1,000 SMS for R300. There's no minimum monthly spend.
Do API messages cost more?
No. Messages sent through the SMS API use the same credits, at the same price, as messages sent from the portal.
